We had a great class last Wednesday night! Devorah Katz from Challahcrumbs.com joined me.
This was the third class in a series of 4:
Loving Your Neighbor: Teaching Siblings To Get Along
We continued our discussion of what makes people resilient. As we said in our previous class, building solid relationships and strong social networks is the hallmark of a resilient person. We all agreed that we need to promote good feelings between siblings so that they can depend on each other as they grow older. We spent much of the class talking about ways to encourage our kids to get along.
The second half of the class we spoke about how to help our kids resolve conflicts with their siblings. Resilient people are proficient in solving problems creatively. We learned how to make our homes where we celebrate solution oriented thinking.
Want to learn more about problem solving in action? Check out how we worked together to get rid of “shut up” from our vocabulary:
Devorah then gave us some great crafts and activities to help us reinforce an attitude of cooperation in our kids.
You can still join our class:
You can listen to the recording of the first three classes and join us live for the last class.
