How To Help Your Kids Help You: We Are Moving Right Along

We had a gorgeous day in Cleveland and I wanted to report on our Spring/Passover Cleaning:

Garage: Done. Can you say that a garage looks beautiful? It has been swept, organized and hosed down! A shout out to my husband and two youngest kids.

Pantry closet: Done.
Threw away:
Old canned food
Old art projects
Wrappers and empty boxes

Found:
Two old, stained, ratty bibs from when my kids were little. I decided to keep them for sentimental reasons and also if we have a guest who has a baby who needs an old, stained, ratty bib.

Linen closet: Done.
My youngest is 8 and we have a pack and play crib with sheets that fit that specific crib, for when we have guests. I found a crib sheet that fits on a regular crib that we no longer have, dump or save? Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Eldest son’s room:

Not done and does not look like it will be done in the very near future. How am I holding up?
I am very impressed with myself. Since yesterday, when he told me he would not be available again, (Drivers ed)
I have not done the following:
1. Yelled at my son
2. Rolled my eyes
3. Yelled at my husband
4. Made snide comments about how this should have been done eons ago, when I first told him about it.
5. Preached about the virtues of a clean room
6. Lectured on the ills of procrastination
7. Yelled at my other children

Granted, I have not had the opportunity to do 1, 2, 4, 5, or 6 because I have not seen much of my son in the last 24 hours, but I think I should still get a big pat on the back and possibly a pint of coffee ice cream. Ok, definitely the coffee ice cream.

2.5 weeks to go!
