Mental Health GPS: For Parents In The Queens and Long Island Area

These days, many of us own a GPS for use in our cars.  Wouldn’t it be nice if we had a GPS for other areas of challenge in our lives?

If you are a parent with concerns about your child’s behavior at home or at school, you may need help figuring out the best course of action to take.  A simple call to Mental Health GPS (Guiding Parents through Services) can provide that assistance.  Mental Health GPS – an initiative created and funded by UJA-Federation of NY —  is similar to the device in your car, except that it’s specifically designed to help  parents find  and access the appropriate mental health resources for  their child (up to college age).

Over the last few years, extremely difficult economic times have had a negative impact on families.  Children often feel the impact of stress too and may act out, feel depressed and/or pose extra challenges to parents who are themselves feeling increased stress.

Remember the relief you felt the last time you were lost and then heard the GPS lady say, “You have arrived at your destination”.  Share this contact info so others can breathe a sigh of relief as well.
