Brochie Weinberg MS, LPCC: Surviving Social Situations: Helping Your Pre-Teen and Teen Daughters Come Out Stronger

We know that the pre-teen and teen years can be especially rough on parents of girls. Parents are worried about a myriad of issues:
Why is it so hard to get along with my daughter? We used to be so close!
My daughter seems down; is this normal?
Why does my daughter spends hours closeted in her room? Should I be concerned?

Most parents will agree hands down that these are the toughest years.

Many parents have asked Brochie, “Why do you work with pre-teen and teen girls? Isn’t it the most difficult age and population? Can you really get through to them?”

Brochie is not daunted by this task. She has been working with pre-teen and teen girls for 13 years and loves it. She feels that, “Every age brings its own challenges and developmental tasks. Being an adolescent female in today’s world can be tough, but their is such opportunity for growth. To watch and help pre-teen and teen girls grapple with their challenges and find themselves is rewarding. They learn about their strengths and we focus on communicating effectively with others. I am honored when they give me permission to enter their world and help them on the journey of self-discovery.
